Minutes of Funk

Intercontinental Groove Station

Listen Again: 22-12-2015, Radio Free Brooklyn

The last live Minutes of Funk show of 2015! Kicking it off with a groovy reggae session with a love song from Brukky, Norma White's reggae version of Chic's "I Want Your Love" (Coxcone Dodd prod.), and a killer new discovery, Ray I's stomping "Dubwise Shower". We get into the Christmas mood - tastefully - with two brilliant cuts, the first from Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, the second Snoop Dogg and his Death Row Records crew. Plenty of funk, disco and afro grooves throughout, and a more mellow, experimental third quarter with music from Saturne (Paris), grandbrothers (Dusseldorf), Floating Points (London), and Reginald Omas Mamode IV. December 29th's show will be a 2015 all-stars mixtape featuring the best releases of the year from veteran and upcoming artists. Minutes of Funk returns live on January 5, 2015.
