Eko fo' Show
with special guest:
DJ Mickey Perez
Friday, October 28th marks the Brooklyn debut of Eko fo' Show at Starvue, an intimate loft space in Bushwick with a beautiful wooden dancefloor and stellar sound provided by a vintage Klipschorn audio system.
The inimitable DJ Mickey Perez will be our special guest, bringing his Tropical Disco sound into the booth alongside us. Mickey has been bringing the funkiest sounds from Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, U.S., Europe & Asia to NYC dancefloors since 2007. Living in Brooklyn since 2002, he currently holds residencies at Bembe (Rhythm Section) and at Black Flamingo (Benga Benga) in Williamsburg, and is host of the regular Body Fusion party at Starvue.
Eko fo' Show is a collaboration between two deejays who collectively represent Nigeria, England, France and Colombia in their heritage and upbringing. Deeply rooted in the afrofunk, afrobeat, and highlife sounds of 60s and 70s Western Africa, our musical branches spread throughout the continent and the diaspora, and always reference the North American jazz, funk and soul which both drew from and in turn influenced African music.
We look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor.
